Reiki Healing
Reiki is an alternative therapy using the universal energy to harmonize the energy systems of the body, mind and spirit.
Reiki (in Japanese “rei” meaning universal and “ki” meaning life energy) is a form of complementary therapy related to energy healing, being a ‘hands-on-healing’ technique. It works on all the body fields (physical, energetical and mental) by channeling a healing frequency of universal energy by the practitioner and laying on the palms over the client, transferring the amount of energy required to each part of the body, activating the natural healing processes in the client’s body and restoring physical and emotional well-being.
Any physical pain or disease comes from an energy blockage which occurred at an earlier stage. The Reiki healing technique transfers universal energy to ‘unblock’ these stagnations in the body, energizing certain areas while calming others, offering a smooth flow of the energy throughout the body, both in the physical and the energy one (represented by auras, meridians and chakras). These blockages can come from a physical injury, but also from an emotional pain, therefore both the physical body and the emotional status of a person will be harmonized after a Reiki therapy session.
Reiki means love, harmony and healing.
The Reiki principles (percepts, mantras) are the following:
Just for today:
- Do not anger
- Do not worry
- Be grateful
- Work honestly
- Be kind to yourself and others
I have personally received the Reiki attunements from the Inamoto Usui himself, the Founder of Komyo ReikiDo, 4th in line after the great Master Mikao Usui, the father of Reiki.
Pranic Healing
Pranic healing is an unique holistic approach used to treat a variety of ailments by tapping into the pranic energy, the universal ‘life force’.
Pranic healing, with its origins in India, was advanced to the world by a spiritual teacher and energy master of Chinese-Philipino origins, the Master Choa Kok Sui. After many years of intensive studying the esoteric superior practices, he concluded that healing, is, at its basis, purification and energizing – cleansing impure vital force from the aura and refreshing the aura with new energy.
Compared to Reiki healing, Pranic healing introduces a more in-depth process of ‘scaning’ the aura, the energy vortex (chakras) and the vital centers in the body, using the palms in order to detect the ‘congestion’ (energy blockage) and the ‘depletion’ (energy deficiency).
Teo could be using elements of the Pranic healing method or offer a full therapy only consisting of Pranic healing, on a case-by-case basis.
Teo has received her certification from one of Master’s Choa Kok Sui schools, from Europe, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Sound Healing
Sound healing uses sound, music and specialist instruments played in therapeutic ways to improve health and well-being.
Sound has its own intelligence and sound therapy has been used for thousands of years. The main explanation for sound having such a healing power is explained through the “sympathetic resonance”. Resonance is the vibratory rate of an object and ‘sympathetic resonance’ is when one vibrating object causes another to vibrate in harmony with it, or match its rate of vibration. Therefore, each organ, organ system or chakras must have an optimum, healthy frequency (rate of vibration). Sound therapy means adding the healing intention, the sound and its vibration, so that the dissonance or illness to be healed.
Teo is using her voice, and acoustics and sacred instruments from different cultures to harmonize the physical, emotional and metal aspects of the client’s health and well-being. Instruments might be used next to the client’s body or on top of the parts of the body, with the approval of the client. In some occasions, the client could sing along or repeat matras together with Teo.
Next, the main instruments used by Teo will be shortly described, together with their healing benefits, whilst individual articles in the blog will talk about the healing experiences with each of these beautiful and unique instruments.
Teo received her international certification in Sound Therapy from the Association of Sound Therapy from Alicante, Spain.
Chromotherapy
Chromotherapy is an alternative medicine method using light in the form of color to balance the lack of ‘energy’ a person might have at a physical, emotional or mental level.
Teo is using the colors, their light through intention and the actual silk scarves on the body, for an intensification of the energy healing. Each color has a healing power, from calming down an organ system, a chakra (energy vortex) or the mind, to energizing and warming up the mentioned aspects. For example, if a person is not grounded enough, his or her energy floating in the upper chakra, not being connected with his or hers roots, feeling unsafe, the red color will be the one to ground the person and bring the energy all way down to the lower chakras, while warming up the entire area, offering security like a kind embrace.
Additional elements applied to treatments
Elements or techniques from different other healing practices in which Teo was trained will be included in the therapy sessions, on a case-by-case basis.
Reflexotherapy
Reflexology is an alternative healing technique through application of pressure to areas of the foot that correspond to organs and systems in the body to alleviate pain and heal certain disfunctions.
Reflexology will be integrated in Teo’s healing therapy by using sound and its vibration on reflexogenic areas on the soles of the feet. It can happen also that gemstone stick could be applied using pressure on the reflexogenic areas of the client’s feet.
In the same line with reflexology, therapeutic tuning forks might be applied to major acupressure points, to decongest energy blockages throughout the full body.
Coaching in personal development
Forming yourself in being a coach in personal development is essential for a constructive conversation with the client after the therapy session ends. It helps to become a better listener of your client’s needs and assists you in asking the right questions.
Neither a developing plan nor specific sessions of personal development will represent the core of the therapy offered by Teo.
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is s a broad range of medicine practices sharing common concepts which have been developed in China and are based on a tradition of more than 2,000 years, including various forms of herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage (tui na), exercise (qigong), and dietary therapy.
By mid-July 2022, Teo will be accredited (by Shenzhou Open University in Amsterdam, the Netherlands) to form a diagnosis of the client’s state of health following the norms and assessment criteria of the TCM School, by assessing the client’s medical history, checking the tongue and the pulse during each session. This represents an addition to the energy work. As an example, the teeth mark on the tongue and a scanty pulse could mean a deficiency in the Qi (vital energy) of a certain organ system, indicating where the focus of the therapy should be placed.
By 2024, Teo will finish the formation in Acupuncture (Shenzhou Open University in Amsterdam, the Netherlands), when sound healing will converge with acupuncture, offering an ever more complex holistic approach to healing, in Teo’s practice.
